Hi,

I'm new to wifi. What kind of range can I expect from a typical wireless ADSL modem/router in a complex?

I'd like to share the connection with a few ppl. The units are full title, to give you an idea of the distance.

Thanks

30-40meters is safe.
50 meters is pushing the quality level.
70 meters for outdoors only.

Make sure you buy decent transmitting unit with 2 transmitting / recieving arials.
These transmitters can usually do error correction.

Seriously though .. i highly recommend buying some FTP cable at about R10 a metre, placing that in some conduit and running wired.

I think I'm going to go for the Billion 7300M Wireless MIMO ADSL2+ Modem/Router.

Does anyone have any experience with this device? Range?

Thanks
