Is it just me, but as I ascend the ladder of age, I notice that my typing and spelling is not what it was....

Anyone else that is 45 plus experience this?

When I type, I misspell the easiests of words, words like sea become see , there and theirs..... once I review my typing I pick up on this simple errors...... I had a good education, what's going on...

The other aspect of my typing, well my letters get jumbled....... words like Monday become Monady or shadow becomes shaodw ....... I am hoping that this is just because I am thinking faster than I type...... but it never use to happen until about two years back.....

Are the years of Alcohol abuse catching up with me.....

Should I stop typing and use dictation softwrae?

Am I alone with this?

Happens to me as well, it's definitely not age. My 63y/o mother does 77words per minute :p

Edit: she redid the test and went from 65 to 77

It's more a case of "thinking faster than what your old fingers can move" scenario :p

You know you getting old when you have to "zoom" in in order to see the captchas properly

I tend to now get more and more dyslexic as I type the older I get. Like "teh" especially. It's annoying as hell, no matter how I try and type it correctly I hardly ever get it right ...

I'm going downhill fast too. Exactly what Mortymoose said. My shrink just nodded sagely when I asked why. I suspect he's buggered too.

I tried so hard to find a spelling error there :p

I've definitely improved in both areas(and many more) as I've aged. Only 38 though, maybe in a few years time.

Bad news .. it's also affected your spelling
I am in my mid-60s and do not suffer from your affliction (well, not much anyway). I think it's a result of all the braais you have, and the strange animals that you cook & eat up there in the Namib desert

When I reread the stuff I generate...I go, wtf...but just go with the flow...reread, correct and push send....some do slip through, but yeah...could not be bothered...

Join the club! I do thi sall teh time. Those 2 are my most common errors and have also started the last year or so. Same age bracket.

MickeyD care to comment :p

I also suffer from said affliction, probably due to me trying not to look at the keyboard while I'm typing!

The result is that I then read what I've typed before posting, which is probably a good thing!!

Spellchecker? Hmmmm... it only helps where you err in using a word not contained in the dictionary loaded on your PC / software.

My common problem is either typing the same word twice or leaving out words altogether!

And I've also yet to load an Afrikaans dictionary...
