Hi all

My tyres are worn and a new set I due

Got quoted 4.8k a pop for pirelli zero which the car came standard with.
Maybe I just just live in the bundus but that's almost 20k for a set.

Anyways my front tyres are 225/40/18 and rear 255/35/18

Got a friend, who has a pair of 245/40/18 and is willing to give them to me for 2k for both. He reckons I can fit them with no problem.

I'm not a tyre fundi, so not willing to take his word for it.

Can you guys please shed some light on this.

My rear tyres are worst for wear so they need immediate change

Why buy a c350 if you cant even afford tyres? Didn't you do your homework on maintenance costs before you bought it?

I would love to drive a superbike to commute with but the price on tyres and how long they lasted put me off so I bought a KLR650

I replaced my BMW 18" runflats with Pirelli P-Zero for R3500 per tire. TWT Cresta. 20k is way too much for non-runflats.

Combo Deal - 2x225/40/18 + 255/35/18 BridgestonePotenza RE050 Runflats – R12250ea at Nazkar

I'm sure you can get a set of new tires at 10k for non-runflats.

Fit thinner or lower speed rating tyres on your car than what it came from the factory with and you are invalidating your insurance cover and in tern your hire purchase agreement.

Look into alternative brands. I get Achilles 2233s in 225/40 18s for under a grand each. They perform just fine.
