TyTN 2vs Nokia e 90

They are very different phones. Search, and you will find the answer! There was a thread about this a few weeks ago! If you are buying cash, I have an E90 for sale.

About a month old.

I wanted an E90, took one on contract, and then was given a second one as a gift from family members. I am selling the local one, with 24 month Warranty as I don't need two. I'll buy something else technological and fun or another phone.

Need to get a new phone, Anyone recomend which one is the better phone?

Thanks

That is the question, but like broken1 said they are very different, you have to look at your needs first, the TYTN II is a windows mobile device with added phone functionality, the E90 is a phone with office and business functionality. Both have their pro's and con's, it just depends where you want the device to suit you.

I have a TyTN II, and sat playing with a friends E90 a while back, i did not like it, but that said, if i had the E90 first i probably would not have liked the TyTN II.

I always had Nokia phones....until i got a Sony Ericsson P910i, i absolutely hated it and tried to sell it a couple of times, until i got used to it, now i love it and still use it when i need longer battery time.

PM me with how much you want for it broke1. Does it have any of the old E90 issues?

After playing with both phones i'm going for the E90

This comparison has been covered in previous threads. If you need a phone first (primary use) then the E90 is best. Its 100% phone on the outside (that can be operated with one hand like any "normal" cell).

Windows enabled phone is always better but i prefer the E90,had the same choice between the 2,took the nokia instead

I also had a choice between the TYTN2 and E90. Being a Nokia fan and after using 3 different Windows Mobile Phones in the past 2 years I took the best option and took the E90.

I just hope that Nokia never think about using Windows Mobile as their operating system.

if you took the best option then you didn't take the E90...

The OS on Nokia phones is horible, and extremely limited in comparison....

What exactly is wrong with the Windows Mobile OS?

The only reason I prefer the TyTN II is the large number of applications available for Windows Mobile. The downside for the E90 is the long GPS lock time and the marks left by keys on the screen but these issues may have been addressed by newer models.
The E90 is bigger but you get a bigger screen. Web browsing on on a TyTN II is a pain. The screen on the E90 is a 16 million colour while the TyTN II has a 64K colour screen. Images look so much better on the E90.
Although the TyTN II has an accelerated display there are no drivers for it so video playback may be choppy (among other things). I have some MP4's that are virtually unplayable on the TyTN II which play perfectly on the E90.
I find it difficult to remove/insert memory cards on the TyTN II.
The E90 has a full keyboard. The E90 obviously lacks a touch screen which is sometimes a pain but touch screens are generally harder to read in sunlight.
The camera on the E90 is better and it supports 640x480 at 30 frames while the TyTN II only supports 320x240 15 frames.
And of course battery life. Here the E90 wins hands down.

It is hard to navigate, HTC have put a reasonable touch interface on to of WM but you have to keep switching between the finger and the stylus.

It is not intuitive, you have to hunt for stuff to find it. Let me give you a prime example when you go to the SMS option you have to click menu and new to create an sms and even then the MMS option is highlighted first just because it is first alphabetical.

Basically its problem is that MS have squashed down Windows until it fitted onto a PDA and then again so it would fit on a phone instead of building a phone OS from the ground up.

I do love the way WM dynamically searches for phone numbers based on the number or name you type in. That is awesome.

That said I would take the E90 any day of the week over the Tytn II

That is one of the problems that MS faced when they introduced Windows CE. They had to make it compatible with its bigger and powerful desktop brother. Symbian however was designed from the ground up run on PDA/cellphone type devices.

And you're saying thing things are easier to do on the E90? I found them WAY more difficult...

If you use Windows, then you'll be comfortable around the device.

The SMS/MMS example is a bad one, because it differs between manufacturers, my imate had a seperate folder/section for MMSs.... my Tytn II doesnt, but for sending SMS's, I just allocated one of the soft buttons to it.

Also, most reviews I've read rate the Tytn II above the E90.
