U-turn at intersection

So I noted that some roads with islands have "no u-turn" signs at intersections whilst others don't have any sign at all

Is is illegal to make a u-turn at any intersection even though there is NO sign there?

In Dubai they have u-turns instead of cross roads. So you go up and down parallel roads instead of them cutting the road. It's odd but sort of works

As nerfherder said. In Africa it's the same. Just have u turns everywhere or traffic circles.

I can understand that. I tend to forget some of the things too. I do believe we should at least have to take a refresher course every so many x number of years
