Uber and Bolt drivers strike

E-hailing drivers in the Western Cape are calling on the government to intervene and impose stricter regulations on the e-hailing industry.

On Tuesday, dozens of drivers from Uber, Bolt, and inDrive halted their services and marched from Hanover Street in Cape Town to the provincial legislature to protest against what they describe as exploitative practices and unfair conditions.

Look "drivers", "contractors" or "employees" (since you pick whatever suits you to fit that days agenda), if you don't like the work go find some other work.

Everything was spelt out fully in an agreement YOU signed. No one put a gun to your head to work in that field.

Don't agree to something and then try and change the terms AFTER the fact and cry "employee".

Dear uber drivers, Stop using the app, find your own customers and charge them whatever u want.
Or even better ask Western Cape E-Hailing Association to create their own app with all the benefits they are asking for.

Increase vehicle age from 3 years to 5-7 years
Drop Uber's profit share from 42% to around 25%.
If you were kicked off the platform there was a valid reason. It was multiple clients that complained.
It's your responsibility to ensure your safety you understood the risks of being a "taxi" driver when you signed up. If you're not happy with the risks or wages move along.

It's still operating, but surprise surprise not many people use it from what I can see.

It's not much of a surprise that when you threaten and intimidate an operator with customers in the vehicle, that those customers will never use your service.
