Uber driver assaulting a teenager

Seemed like they declined the taxi when he came and the driver was understandably irate. How the "assault" took place will need both sides of the story
 
Read an article last night about the uber drivers hanging out near the airport Cape Town. Because they are using partner cars, they make a pitiful salary and are frustrated at the recent decrease in cost and don't want to use the cash option.

I wonder if frustration starting to boil over
 
Maximum number of passengers would be 4 with Uber X and Uber Black if not mistaken. If their entourage was bigger than 4 people why didn't they request an Uber van in the first place. Maybe they were 5 and the Uber driver was against squeezing another passenger. They did something to provoke him by the looks of things.

The Uber driver spent time and money to get to the pickup up location and possibly à making telephone calls for directions. I am starting to use taxify pay like R5-R20 but don't have the surcharge nonsense http://invite.taxify.eu/RICHARDGU3 the same drivers have both apps.. They clearing out like R30 grand extra a month but do over 15-20 thousand km a month

Thanks. Never heard of taxify!
 
Wow, I used Uber 4 times today and every time the drivers were excellent, even had 2 of them who were on their first day on the job

If they're using Partner cars, there is a decent chance they're earning the same - or more - than both the owner of the car and Uber.
