Ubiquiti outdoor AP LR

Hi guys I have 3 long range APs in the roof around the house.
One area of the house has little to no coverage. What could I use that will work with the 3 APs currently?
Maybe an external AP i can mount on the wall?

I would appreciate the help

Are they mesh or wired? How big is the house because those long range APs can go very far. Is the problem inside or outside the house?

Are you able to run a cable to that end of the house? If not any Unifi AP can connect wirelessly to one of the LR APs - you will sacrifice some speed though

House is a double story, fairly big but not massive, 3 units are inside the roof between the floors, I cant get much access in the garage where I need it for the solar.
And its a bit of a mission to run a cable there

Yeah I had a similar problem. So I ran another Ethernet cable and put a small outdoor ubiquity (with the pole antennas) in the garage.

However a mesh one should be fine too. Unify is good for managing wired APs and adding mesh ones. You also don’t need insane speed and low latency from the inverter so it will be fine. The only thing to remember is max throughout on WiFi on the master AP that the mesh unit is connecting to will drop a bit.

Yes there are plenty of UniFi outdoor options you can simply add to your existing system.

Just need to get Ethernet there from PoE switch you likely already have, otherwise just put an injector in the middle.

No meshing required, you already have a UniFi network. You can do a wireless uplink if you absolutely have to but you need to get power to the thing anyway so may as well just run the Ethernet all the way.

Yeah so it will use some bandwidth so the mesh'd AP has an uplink to a wired one.

As mentioned by Sauron tho, the AP will need power, so it maybe just be easier to run Ethernet cable with POE and give the AP wired backhaul.

Ubiquiti Airmax Litebeams are well priced with ridiculous range but overkill.

I went with a TPLink Mesh network at home with 4x Deco X55 units. Very happy...

Was about R4500. House is about 500m2 over three floors. Garages on bottom floor have decent signal through the concrete ceiling. If I needed an extra Deco X55 to add to the mesh it's only about R1250.

None of those work with the existing system though so it would break roaming and just generally be a bit silly.

UniFi AC Mesh is cheap and can even grab them second hand.

Why replace the entire enterprise grade system with consumer one when only one more AP is needed?

@marine1 if it’s not actually “outdoors” like in the rain and such you can also just use another normal UniFi AP.

They wall mount too if you really don’t have more ceiling/roof.
