Is anyone using any of Ubiquiti's UniFi AP's as an HotSpot Service which also allows online purchasing of access with success in accepting payment in ZAR?

Anybody with info on this? looking to run this in a small complex.

I ran a hotshot in my old complex few years back.

Because the users don't have such a high turnover (such as a shopping mall for example), I just used a Outdoor AP, combined with a Mikrotik router and MAC adress filtering for each device on the network.

The Mikrotik router could track individual usage, set usage caps, and easily enable/disable users. I specifically wanted users to pay per device and or household, and not give the neighbours the WiFi code so MAC filtering was the obvious choice. Worked like a charm.

I dont think you can process payments within the Ubiquity controller framework...well unless you got a coding buddy

I use this, somehow. it was set up and I just log in every month to pull reports and issue new vouchers.

its quite good, but I have no clue how to get it set up from scratch.

Anyone come right here - using Unifi in SA and Payment Gateway, I'm keen to setup up a "Hotspot" portal for guests that are in our area - as we are close to some coffee shops etc. more so for fun to see if anyone actually signs up for the internet.

I have a 1,000Mbps/500Mbps Fibre Line and don't mind shaving some off for some testing... also our gear is all on backup power - so if Loadshedding returns then people might want to access the WiFi?
