I am looking to replace my current router (TP Link Archer D7) and extenders setup as I get a lot of issues and have to reboot.

I searched and came across the Amplifi HD and it appears to be an option. If I have it right I will still need the "modem" functionality in my current router to connect the fibre. I also looked at the Unify system, but it appears more for the power users (which I am not)

Any opinions on this or other options I should investigate?

Edit: Seems if this can handle the authentication directly linked to the CPE, therefor no need for the router

Is it possible to buy directly from MiRO ?
No idea. Got mine from takealot. Dont bother with the satellites. Just get more base units for expansion. They work so much better, especially when wired in. And they look damn cool

Didn't know it could work like that! Interesting options then

OK, I don't know if I need DynDNS. Not using it at the moment

I bought one to play with, and that is the one thing that I found not to be present.

Nice all in one solution, nice and small.

I see you are in JHB, otherwise I could’ve sold mine to you with huge discount (set it up once for 2 days).

Let me know if I should help with Miro.

Thanks to @gfmalan who assisted me offline

I now have the Amplifi system up and running and so far so good...will see how it goes over the next week.

I went with 2 x base units and 1 x mesh point

Anyone tried the Amplifi Instant? I see they are significantly cheaper

We tested them against the HD and found at close range they just as good for throughput. At 10M away through obstacles there was a 15% gain in throughput for the HD so value for money definitely the Instant. If you consider the iperf test was 452 vs 406 in most situations the extra range is not even going to benefit most users on for example a 100Mbit Internet connection.

Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thanks.

Did you get the instant in the end ?

Is everyone fine using these kits where WPS is on all the time, even though it’s the push button method ?

It was for a friend which didn't end up wanted to spend the bucks. So no.
