Hi,

Upgraded recently (not a fresh install) and would like to know if anyone has a better image viewer that also has a decent editor option attached.

All I want from the viewer is everything the current viewer does but I would also like an edit button that opens an editor that can crop, rotate (manually as well as by the standard 90/180') brightness, contrast, intensity, hue etc would also be bonus as well as the ability to be able to edit RAW files.

Any suggestions?

What is Ubuntu using now?

I use gthumb for basic browsing and rotating stuff, nice a lightweight.
Gwenview with kipi-plugins is also very powerful and do almost everything you need done.

I'ts using GNOME image viewer 3.2.1 but thanks for the info, I'll give them a try :)

I usually use gimp if I want to go a bit more advanced but this takes a bit of time to open so would not be the best for a default image viewer.

I like geeqie, especially for viewing RAW files, as it opens the embedded jpeg in the RAW file. This means it doesn't have to decode the RAW, making it as fast as FastStone in win. Haven't tried its editing features.

I stopped using gthumb as the version in the debian repositories wants to uninstall half of the gnome desktop.
