Ubuntu laptop help

Oh and the reason I'm crying is because Windows (for some reason) only allows me to copy and paste whenever it wants. Also, explorer crashes randomly (fun to watch) but yea... Linux crashed once, but that's because I was fiddling where I shouldnt've :D

Easy way to install Firefox 3.5 is to go Applications -> Add/Remove. Then pick on Show: All Open Source applications. There is Shiretoko Web Browser, tick check box next to it and apply changes.
After all is done run Shiretoko. Tricky part is do not click on Firefox applet/icon to start Shiretoko. BTW Shiretoko is Firefox 3.5 and official Firefox in Ubuntu 9.04 is Firefox 3.0.11.

For explanation what is secure-za.imrworldwide.com go to http://forums.spybot.info/index.php. Did you possibly installed win version of Firefox using Wine? Thanks to wine and mono soon we will have windows viruses running on Linux ;-)

Sounds like you have a defective laptop... time to get a netbook and load ubuntu or ubuntu netbook remix them maybe later on android or moblin...

I recommend an aspire one if you choose the netbook route. :)

have you checked things like your cookie and javascript settings?

Huh, everything installed perfectly. It's just FireFox (and other browsers) ****ing around. So what does that have to do? Sure my Dell Inspiron 9100 is 6 years old, but it still kicks this stupid laptop's ass (I'm on a Core 2 Duo 2.5ghz)

You said XP gives you problems too which to me sounds like dodgy memory.. rough guess.

That will do what? Nothing. Your point being?

Do not like wine idea. Including non-transparent packages from gray sources will jeopardize integrity of system. So, while damage is usually not comparable with one on windows it still can't be neglected.
Point - missing windows games leave wine out - use KVM or vBox and windows inside VM.
Even simpler get Linux games like Glest or keep dual boot.

Had a powerfailure causing glitches while I was reinstalling service packs (I got my cousin to do it since I'm too lazy) so when I saw the errors and crash I was like.... not in my normal state of mind...
