In the past you could redeem any Ucount point you have into your Std Bank pure save account, even if it was to the value of R100 if you so deemed fit. Now Std Bank have gone and changed the rules that you need a minimum of 20 000 points (R2000) before you can convert the points to cash. This without any communication of any form.

Was it not in the new 2015 agreement doc posted on the ucount web since Dec 2014?

Rewards programs are the ultimate bait & switch schemes. Very few of them are worth it after the initial sign-up period cool down.

Hmm, I didnt see that, BUT, I redeemed 5000 points last week, have some left which I wanted to redeem for cash to carry me to pay day. Been a very very tough January.

Standard bank, still back paddling to the darkest ages of history.

I redeemed 5000 points on Saturday , already transferred to my puresave account.

I know nothing about this rule. And last week I transferred I think R500's worth of points into my PureSave account

It is the terms and conditions now. The Ucount cycle starts on the 16th of each month... daft, I know.

Any tips on how to up ones tier?

What tier are you on and what do you already have? You get points for using the banking app to make 5 transactions a month, all statements to email, have a will, some savings in different savings/investment accounts, revolving credit loan, home loan.

Short answer, it depends.

Apologies. On tier 3 so only options left are bank will and foreign exchange.
