Maybe encouraging healthy protest but to the point where their child destroyed/vandalised property, cost themselves a UCT degree, a year of their academic career, made future employment harder for themselves and effectively flushed tens of thousands of rands down the drain? Doubt it.

My child would get a moerse PK from me if they did that.

I get the feeling that whoever "raised" these cretins did a far poorer job of it than you would. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

I'm all for students being involved in causes and protesting. There was however never any justification for the destruction of property.


Then kick them out too.

80. There is a clear disconnect between a protester who states that he or she is protesting for the benefit of other black students so that those students would be granted accommodation and food, but then appropriates for himself or herself, the food of other students.

This point highlights the hypocrisy that RMF has been so unaware of in regards to some of their actions.

I read the entire judgement, and the expelled seem completely unreasonable. They show zero sign of remorse, and still believe their behaviour was correct and justified.

It's not hard to believe why these kids are like that. I watched Avengers: Civil War last night, and there was a political trailer for some political organisation / movement thrown in there. Not sure what the organisation does, but it featured all black protesting students and some other political stuff.

The current generation in University are trying to mould themselves into a political statement. They want to be the "movement that brought down injustice, white supremacy and bring about economic freedom". These types of protests and the RMF movement are going to continue. Just like our strikes, it's going to become a normal state of affairs at our Universities.

It's just people yearning for the good old apartheid days when the ANC were freedom fighters and had direction. Now the battle has been won and everyone is disillusioned with what freedom actually is - hard work and building something. Nah... They miss the old days. Much easier to blame others for your troubles than actually build something yourself.

How are these people going to work in the real life? They say they want economic freedom yet they detest the institution that help people become financially free.

Do you think your boss is going to give two goddam bits of worry about what your problems are? Not a chance. He will fire your ass so fast and get one of the hundreds of other unemployed people to do your job. In the real world no one cares about your problems.

Time should be near for these so called protesters to stop crying about how unfair the world is and start acting like adults.
