nope he imployed a 6-3-1 formation at half time after going 3-0 up Spain were poor defensively. Everytime England broke the defence was running around like a headless chicken. Rashford, Sterling pace just caught Ramos, Alonso, Nacho, Castro sleeping. England just played to Spain's defence weakeness

This was what I was saying about England at the WC, if Southgate wanted to play defence first approach he needed Sterling and Rashfords pace instead he used Kane and Allie with either Sterling/Lindgard up front or...

ye, the last 20 minutes left he had everyone defending... they were 3-1 up

Walker, Trend-Alex Arnold, Gomez, Harry Maguire, Chidwell, Chalobah and he pulled Rashford and Sterling back to defend leaving Kane with nothing to do up front...

Are you even watching this tournament. A hell of a lot more commitment from all sides than international friendlies.

The Switzerland Vs Belgium match as an example.

Portugal through to Semis after drawing with Italy and topping the group. Poland get relegated to League B for next year

England come from behind to beat Croatia to go through to Semifinals as well. Croatia get relegated to League B for next year.

Switzerland came from 2 goals behind to thrash Belgium 5-2 to top their group and are the third semifinalists. Iceland relegated to Group B

Netherlands and Germany play tomorrow. With Netherlands beating France 2-0 a couple of days ago, they only need a draw to become the 4th Semifinalist. If Germany win, then France will top the group. In any case , Germany is relegated to Group B
 
Netherlands top their group after drawing 2-2 with Germany. And so are the 4th Semifinalist.
 
Why does San Marino even bother playing football at international level?

Even when matched against weaker sides (Belarus, Luxembourg and Moldova) they can't even manage to score a goal or pick up a point. 6 games, 6 defeats, no goals and conceded 16.

I just don't see the point in them participating in official matches. They haven't improved and show no signs of it. Its pointless for their opposition as well.

Going back to 1990 (When San Marino played its first official competitive match):

140 competitive games (World Cup qualifiers, Euro qualifiers and Nations League)
0 wins
3 draws
137 losses
18 goals scored
623 conceded
The last time they never lost a game was a 0-0 draw against Estonia in a 2016 Euro qualifier. Prior to that, you have to go back to 2001 when they managed to not lose (1-1 draw against Latvia in a 2002 World Cup qualifier).

Over the same period they have also played 13 friendlies

1 draw
11 losses
4 goals scored
31 conceded
That win came against Lichtenstein in 2004.

In the AFC, OFC, CAF and CONCACAF they have pre-qualifying where the minnows play one another before the ''best'' of them enter the tournament proper. UEFA should do the same.
 
England losing 3-1 to Netherlands in the Semi finals.

3 of the goals in this match were stupid defensive errors. 1 by Netherlands in the first half to give England a penalty. And 1 in each half of extra time by England.
