THE BELOW INFO IS FROM THE MANUFACTURER:
What is the advantage of 9 Bands Full Spectrum Grow Light?
After 3 years repeated experiment, our factory has refined 9 bands wavelengths:
430nm/440nm/460nm(Blue),
610nm/630nm/650nm/660nm(Red),
730nm(Infrared),
12000K(White).
Red color for flowering stage , blue color is good for leaves growth stage. This 9 bands full spectrum used in the Grow Light contains the most efficient and proven wavelengths for Growth & flowering.
Why using 3W LED Chips?
In terms of actual PAR (Photosynthetic Active Radiation) output, 3w LEDs produce more usable light when compared with the 1w LEDs both on brightness and light penetration, so using 3w chips will get the additional boost of more power with a lower initial cost.
Why actual working power is less than chip power? Only 60%-70%?
To protect the LED chip, we turn down the current to drive the 3W LED chip at about 1.8-2.1W. If we take full use the 3W power, the brightness will only increase 10%, and negatively, the led working temperature will be much higher, which will reduce the life span. .
LED Grow Light VS HID/HPS Grow Light?
LED lights are more money up front, but you save about 50% on the electrical consumption of the light, cooling costs (very expensive in the summer) and annual bulb replacement.Follow the guidelines for recommended coverage area, and your LEDs will impress you with their yield. The much reduced heat output of LEDs when compared with HPS/MH bulbs also substantially reduces the risk of a fire hazard, especially in an enclosed space.
Does this light emit much heat? ?
LEDs are the most efficient lights in existence today. They produce so little heat; you can actually let the plant touch the light (although it's not recommended - as you will reduce the size of your growing area). Any heat produced by the unit is absorbed by the heat sink and disippated by the fans in the rear of the light.
