Looking to upgrade my 3 screen setup (17inch laptop + 27" monitor + 17" monitor) to 4 or 6 screens. This would come with cost (monitors) and complications (graphics cards etc)
My NVIDIA card maxes out at 3840x2160 so my thinking is feed a 42"-50" 4k/UHD TV via the single HDMI port on my laptop
Its a cheaper and more elegant alternative to multiple monitors and gives flexibility in terms of sizing windows etc. Also, its a single device so less electricity consumption.
Have my eye on a 48" Hisense (LEDN48K300U). Not the best brand but it comes with a 4 year warranty. I can pick up a curved Samsung for R10,900 with a 2 year warranty and pay extra for a 5 year warranty.
Is there anything technical I have missed?
I need to test my rig and HDMI cable on a 3840x2160 and see what happens with my graphics card
Running HDMI and VGA at the same time bumps up operating temperature by about 10 degrees
