Hi guys. Anyone else with mweb and a vista machine unable to connect since about 24:00 last night.

They did some planned maintenance on their network last night as said in their email notifications that I received during the week. Now from the moment I shutdown my pc last night and rebooted I have been unable to connect. I just get an unidentified network, before this the adsl was working perfectly. I didn't change anything on the system.

My xp machine is able to identify the network fine.

Any help would be appreciated except the change to xp. Vista has worked fine for over a year with the adsl for me except now.

You mean an unidentified network on your fixed LAN? or an unidentified wireless network?

Either way... have you reset your router?

I don't use Vista... but my m-web connection at home is also fine on my XP machines.

Vista FTL!!!

Unidentified network of the fixed adsl/modem/router.

Reset restart. Same thing. But I like I said it was working fine for well over a year till yesterday evening and their maintenance.

Can you log in to the Router from Vista? What is the login IP address?

last resort (before you re-format and take Vista off the machine) ... Try unplugging ALL the cables, turning off all the computers, turning off the router and leaving everything sitting for an hour.

then plug all cables back in... allow router to boot... then start the Vista machine first.

Since the network can't be identified I can't log into it from the vista machine.
Can from the xp machine.

Login is 192.168.1.1

Going to try the new nforce chipset drivers now to see if it might work.

um... that login does not look correct

try 192.168.1.254

Got it fixed by using an earlier restore point. Still not sure what the issue was. Still not able to access the router from the vista machine but can surf and get my emails. So can get my work done at least.

i have same problem sometimes all you gotta do is restart the network adapter.. Click "diagnose" and it should come up

I tried that didn't work. It happened this morning again. I have narrowed it down is either being the new nvidia gfx drivers or the windows security update new definitions which caused it.
