UJ launches new digital qualification system

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) has introduced a new online system that will enable its graduates to access their qualifications digitally.

Allows for digital verification of qualifications... this is actually pretty cool...

Because this is not currently being done. There is not a way you can get access to your qualifications without applying for it, paying a fee, and waiting months.

doesn't UNISA already do that (myunisa), I mean if you study via correspondence, unless you rock up at UNISA one has to be able to find a copy of your degree online,

so UJ is trying to emulate Unisa now?

Not as far as I know. I did my qualification through Unisa in the early 1990's. I needed a copy and had to apply for it, provide a written request, copies of identity document, along with an affidavit that I lost the original. Also had to pay a fee to Unisa. The process took 8 months, but I received only a duplicate document last week.
