Boris Johnson is to step down as an MP with immediate effect after receiving the Partygate report.
That report was produced by the MP-led Privileges Committee which was looking into whether he misled Parliament.
Mr Johnson accused the Commons inquiry of attempting to "drive me out".
In a statement he said: "They have still not produced a shred of evidence that I knowingly or recklessly misled the Commons."

This is breaking news, and thus not much has been released as of this post.

Is he eloping with the other Tory MP who resigned today and is also forcing a by-election? :p

In evidence given to the committee in March, Mr Johnson admitted misleading Parliament, but denied doing it on purpose.

Lmao. Conservatives are really something else.

They've roasted him. 90 day suspension is unprecedented.

A leader resigning for being linked to something controversial. Just first world things.

No he resigned to avoid facing the consequences. Slightly different narrative. He's a coward and a bully. Bojo would not be out of place in the anc.

BREAKING: MPs have voted 354 to 7 that Boris Johnson lied to Parliament about lying to the British public about breaking his own covid lockdown rules. 'Team Boris' is reduced to just seven people. His humiliation is complete.
Yikes. Curious to know how they censure. More curious what the censure would have been if he were still PM.

No censure likely.
If he'd not resigned he'd be suspended from parliament for likely 90 days resulting in him effectively bring fired as an MP and thus pm
