UK to SA plug

I bought a radio in the UK and need to change the UK plug to a South African one. Would the plug cable be the same inside as locally?

Why not just get a plug adapter?

Electricity works the same in all countries. Just make sure that the voltage is correct. Chop off the plug and fit a South African plug

Some UK devices still use black and red.

But yes UK standards are the closest to SA you will find.

Even some brand new stuff (mistakenly) use the old standard. Especially the ones that aren't really from the UK but sold there. I bought a fan recently with a UK plug on. Still had black and red cables (earth wasn't connected). But yes the vast majority would be brown, blue, yellow &green.

lol, maybe I should have more clear...

I'm really asking about the end that plugs into said radio, or if it has a psu (similar to a laptop or mobile devices.

I bought an adaptor from builders for a blower that had these plugs. Was cheap.

nope.

If it uses just a standard figure-8 power cable then he can toss the UK cable and buy a local one. though I would recommend the 3pin cables rather than the 2pin.
