Will it happen in our lifetimes? I see the Libyan leader(don't ask me to spell it) call for it again.., France and now Russia too(yea i can't spell their names either). Now SA/Zuma will be calling for it as well btw as Zuma(Thanks he has a easy name and worse case there is Jz just not as hip) has already said before conference that he will be calling for reforms for UN/security council + IMF.

The end of imperialism?

*Will add/or someone can add news report when it becomes available.. likely a wrap up after its done

The Iranian president speech is next.. Apparently he is going after the Israeli's so it will be an entertaining one compared to ghadaffi's 90min one on everything from who shot jfk to effects of jet lag LMAO.

Ahmadinejad's speech is Really really good, and no doubt this will be spun into demonization by Tommorrow.

It is so sad seeing all those hypocritical polititians not having the decency of sitting through the whole speech and simply marching out of the hall.

heh it was less controversial than usual and basically just pointed out inadequacies in the US strategy and the usual Israeli issue of the millions of palestinian refugee's still living as immigrants 60yrs on + military occupation strategy.

The walkouts seemed more stupid in grander scheme of things because what was said was true and then this has become more routine has it not for those two to step out when they pointed out.

EXACTLY!! What's also interesting on AJE they talking a past state dept. official who says there was allocated funds to undermine the Iranian leadership in the george bush era.

Makes you wonder how much of the election stuff was influenced, after all the rallies where not country wide.. what other cities were affected? Tehran holds about 10% of the populous which is like cape town having a pro DA rally and complaining when the ANC wins the national..(not that i doubt there was legit concerns).

The South American guys seem to be talking about the same stuff wrt Honduras and not wanting overthrown govs which the US is very guilty of doing down there.

Krycor, it has become routine to loudly walk out of the room whenever someone starts telling the truth in politics.

Well he IS guilty of keeping the nuclear in a grey area, no mention of anything in that speech.. I mean if he wanted he could have made a more direct statement other than just saying civilian nuclear pursuits should be allowed. 2ndly iaea have heavy surveillance on a external scale + internally monitoring the sites etc(which is why israeli reports are quite preposterous at times).

btw check the response on the speech:
U.S. and British officials in the assembly hall left at the time of Ahmadinejad's comments about Israel. "It is disappointing that Mr. Ahmadinejad has once again chosen to espouse hateful, offensive and anti-Semitic rhetoric," U.S. mission spokesman Mark Kornblau said in a statement. - reuters

Did they listen to the same speech??

Okay so you have an insane madman, a brutal thug and a guy who showers to protect himself from aids calling for reform :erm:

The UN is already no longer run by the worlds most influencial powers as much as it is run by a bunch of insignificant nations with no power.
What I am saying is the UN and it's resolutions have no power anymore unless the most powerful nations are behind those resolutions. Powerful countries have already ignored UN resolutions, and they will do so whenever they don't agree with them. The smaller nations behind those resolutions can't back them up, and frankly, the smaller nations seem more biased and spiteful than the significant nations anyway.

As for that president, if he keeps saying the same thing, expect people to walk out. What's the point of getting up there and saying the same sht you said last time? Propaganda. So why shouldn't people walk out when someone is attempting to propagandize?

Again back in the spot light due to stupidity of using it for a statement (not action, not punitive measure either..) against Israel.

I’m gonna lmao if the veto systems comes apart with the Israeli support being a primary reason.

To be fair, the UN veto system is stupid and all the veto holders abuse it to benefit their various allies. The right, wrong, moral of the thing never comes into it. Veto is wielded because they have it. I wonder how often the US use it to protect and shield Israel, must be the majority of their veto vote.
