In May I upgraded to an MTN Anytime 200 package, which entitles me to R200 worth of minutes, 200 SMSs, 200mb of data and 30 minutes of calls for MTN to MTN. Apparently this was a special bundle promoted during the months of May and June.

I am now unable to enquire as to the balances on this bundle (using either the 808 or 258 enquiry numbers) because according to the call centre it was a promotional bundle and is not loaded onto their system. The call centre tells me that if I want to know a balance I must phone them each time.

That is just insane!

Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem with a package purchased, or upgraded, during this time?

Have you tried *141# or is that only for Anytime Top-Up?

Thank you for your replies. Strange that the MTN call centre was not able to offer similar advice. It is interesting that the 258 and 808 numbers reveal different information to the 162 and 141 numbers. Are they operating off different databases?

One is more up to date then the other, IIRC 258 / 808 is more current

Interesting, because from my experience I would say it was the other way around. Both 258 and 808 gave completely incorrect information, whilst the 162 and 141 numbers provided accurate information.
