This is probably not the correct forum for my issue but this is a weird one and I'm at a loss.

I am unable to load any of Sony's SSL secured sites. E.g. my playstation can not sign into psn, and on my PC I can not login to PSN either or even access the store page (https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-za/). For the store page, the splash loading screen loads, but then says the site is not available. I can access https://www.playstation.com/en-us/, but not sign in. The connection times out, no helpful error messages are shown. this site: http://sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/ does not load for me at all - timeout.

This happens on multiple devices (phone, ps4, pc) on my network. I can sign into other SSL sites no problem. I can even access https://www.geotrust.com/ which is the provider for Sony's SSL. I might even be barking up the wrong tree by thinking this has anything to do with SSL. I can access the sites using a different internet connection. My ISP is MWeb. I'm confident that no settings were changed anywhere when this started sometime over the weekend.

I've tried various other random sites and they all seem fine, only Sony sites are giving me issues. I've disabled the firewall on my PC and on my router. I've even toyed with MTU (there was an earlier PSN issue related to that) to no avail. What could possibly be the issue here? I'm tempted to restore my router to factory default but would like to hear some ideas before doing that.

Well, if this is happening across multiple devices on the same network, then the problem surely lies on the network.

It's not a hardware issue (you actually have internet), so it can only be either something blocking you from your ISP end, or on your end ... and the only possible software related thing there could be your router settings.

I'd recommend you try a total reset of your router to factory defaults (it's a schlep I know). Maybe somewhere along the line you ticked some option related to network security (a built-in router firewall that upgraded itself with new firmware?)

If it's just a quick diagnosis you want, you could take your router to a friend's house and plug it in there, and see if the same problem replicates.

I’ve clicked on the store link you provided. It gave me a screen saying that the site is unavailable.
The fault would probably be on their side.

Either I tweaked the correct value somewhere or the issue has just resolved itself - seems to be working again. Super weird - this had been going on since Saturday and persisted through several router resets etc :/

Works on my end, but it does show as 'loading' first ... must be some kind of complicated interface, not just a straight website. Might be related.

Reading your post I disabled PeerBlock and the site opened. :o
