Uncapped 10mbps advertised but not really?

Then you definitely want to move away from OpenWeb and are going to need a larger budget.

Can't increase my budget sadly. Not yet anyway, but I'm working on it.

I don't know for sure but it seems like Openweb is limiting available speed during the day. The guy I spoke to said that ports will reset automatically @ 7pm at which time I need to reboot my router and see if that's fixed the issues with my speed.

Hopefully, once that happens, I'll get more speed now that the line is syncing correctly (Telkom put it onto 8mbps for some reason instead of 10)

No fair though, you're in Cape Town where **** ACTUALLY works...

Telkom messes up everywhere, not just in Jhb. My line was down for a month due to something wrong with the port and some technician then deciding it would be a good idea to permanently disconnect me from the exchange for a week/close the fault. (this was 2014 though)

With your "high" usage (for South Africa), you are going to run into problems with most ISPs. If it is a lot of streaming, you might want to look at basic uncapped accounts(the service will not be the greatest), else if it's downloads past midnight, you might want to look at large capped accounts from WebAfrica/CrystalWeb where they give large midnight data.

Just to be clear, we were on the MWeb 4mpbs Premium data package and that was adequate. We rarely exceeded the soft cap on that which was 400GB/month.

Now that your line sync's @ 10Mbps now you can tackle the ISP side of things. Will send you a pm

Exactly the same here, also in Cape Town. "But you reported the fault had been resolved"
