I have just received this mail from openweb:
Dear Piero,

We at OpenWeb always have our thinking caps on. Not because we are trying to be clever, but because we are always looking for a good deal so that our valued clients can save money!

And this morning, a lightbulb ignited within!

How about a 4Mbps Uncapped ADSL account that will run until the end of July for only R399.

Here are the details:

* Office Hours speed will be 128k
* After Hours speed (Mon to Friday from 19:30 until 07:30 and Weekends from Friday 19:30 until Monday 07:30) will be FULL 4Mbps speed!
* P2P and torrents allowed
* The account will ONLY run from the 20th of July until the end of July, and cannot be renewed, as it is a once off special account.
* 1 concurrent ADSL connection

So, if you have some end of the month downloads you would like to cram into your harddrive, this will most certainly be the special for you.

Please order as soon as possible, as we have a very limited amount of stock available.

To order, kindly email [email protected]

Kind regards

I wish this could be the monthly price :(

Pathetic really. Openweb is just throwing us some scraps. Please come back when you have a real low-priced uncapped offering.

+1. what kind of an offering is that? i'd rather split an axxess account with a friend like this... R999 for an uncapped express+ adsl account (if i'm not mistaken). each oke pays R500 and uses it for 2 weeks of the month. 14 days of uncapped express+ for R500.

if one opted for the regular uncapped express then it would be R450 each.

this may be a stupid suggestion and i'm open to flaming but i think it just works out to more or less the same price. you're not bound by a "this month only special - buy now - limited stock available". you have time to plan your downloads each month, as opposed to rushing out right now and grabbaing whatever you can get your hands on. this plan could be available every month, not just the months that some isp see fit to have a special (for whatever reason). lastly, axxess has 27/7 support.

in closing, no dis to openweb, i like them and i think they trying really hard. i just think that if they were gona spring this "deal" on us at this point (especially seeing its a time of the month where people dont really have money), then they should have made it slightly cheaper. maybe R250 would be fair? anyway, just my random thoughts, flame away :)

I can't believe the price changed, I bought this EXACT same package last month for R1299.00 and now its being offered regardless for how long for 900 less O_O

eish! :sick:

Just remember most of these uncapped services, if not all, only allow 1 concurrent connection. So unless your buddy lives in the same house as you only one of you will be able to connect at a time.

no offence dude but obviously i know that. if u re-read the part that u quoted i did say each uses it for 2 weeks out of the month. not at the same time. so if u and me split the account, i use it from the 1st to the 15th and then u use it for the rest of the month

384k uncapped all month, no throttling, R399pm. In GB downloaded terms, this is probably the same as 4mb after hours?

There are so many 384k users. It does not pay us to get a "4mb uncapped" deal that runs at 128 during the day. Us lesser users are being left out here.

Make me a better offer!
