Hi Guys,

Please can someone explain, in laymans terms, so that i can understand ....

- What is an uncapped, shaped account
- What is an uncapped, unshaped account
- What's the difference between home and business uncapped ADSL

We run a business services centre and a part of the business is the "old" internet shop side of it (on a 10mbs line).
Our clients only browse the internet (surf, emails etc.) and the odd person downloads, whatever they download.
... nothing fancy and/or to complicated etc.

Who is the best ISP at the best price? any recommendations?

Thanks a mill ....

Heinz

Well if those are your only requirements then this will work for you ;)

- What is an uncapped, shaped account

Uncapped: The word means no limit, however, each ISP have it's own definition and limits.
Shaped: Speed is based on how busy the network is, different things get slow down to make some other go faster.

eg. Uncapped is like going to eat a buffet, you can eat and drink as much as you want, however they limit you to finish your dinning with in 2 hours. Shaping is queuing for food, the more people there is the slower the speed.

- What is an uncapped, unshaped account

Uncapped: The word means no limit, however, each ISP have it's own definition and limits.
Unshaped: What ever you do is treated the same.

eg. Uncapped is like going to a buffet, you can eat and drink as much as you want, until they close for the day. No need to queuing for food, you get first serve.

- What's the difference between home and business uncapped ADSL

Home account is normally design for low to mid consumption and use during after hours.
Business account is design for high priority applications to suite all business needs without delays.

Recommendations is depends on your budget, got a ballpark figure?
