What do I want from my line.
I want to be able to play my local fps shooters online with a <30ms ping.
I want to be able to play WOW int with a <300ms ping.
I want to be able to stream youtube and other sites.
I want to be able to browse at my 4096 speed.
I want to be able to download my (at current 70 gigs a month) of local and int media.

What can i get from my uncapped ISP
I want to be able to play my local fps shooters online with a <30ms ping. NO
I want to be able to play WOW int with a <300ms ping. NO
I want to be able to stream youtube and other sites.Sometimes

I want to be able to download my (at current 70 gigs a month) of local and int media.Yup, thats all thats left to do
Due to the heavy shaping and throttling these ISP have left me with an account that is pretty painfull to use for these services, THEREFORE to get any use out of it I might as well just chuck on torrents and torrents and nzb's. Latency doesnt matter there, shaping/throttling is just a speed bump.

This account is now ONLY suited for automated downloading!

The only real reason people want uncapped, is to download as much illegal stuff as possible.

I'm using Cybersmart at the moment.... my WOW latency is generally 250-400ms.

Not quite, i currently pay more than R500(more than uncapped 4096) for my isp costs. I do in total less than 70GB a month, however i can do all of the above. I would love to be able to swtich to uncapped cause its cheaper and it will make life simpler only having one account!
I don't need to download more, my 70GB is more than enough for my needs.

Maybe, but only because people feel they are getting their money's worth if they get some content in return.

R1000 a month for 4 meg semi-uncapped is a joke!!! - Let's see if people still attempt to download the internet when it only costs R350pm all inclusive for 10meg uncapped.

NINAJ EDIT!

I agree, just because you have an uncapped account doesn't mean you HAVE TO go batchit insane and download everything you can get your hands on.

Generally (99.999999999999999999%), yes
I use my uncapped for ligit reasons and wouldn't want a capped account. Steam downloads, playing games, youtube, streaming video and audio, etc.
All those tossers grabbing their pirated goods from news sites and torrents can go back to 56k dialup then we wouldn't be sitting with throttling and prioritization issues.

This is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard.

How much water do you drink a day? 200 litres?
why not - it's right there in the tap, as much as you can drink, but you don't do you ..

Do you breath extra fast just so you can get more air than the person next to you?

Clearly you missed the OP's point. You single out 1 single line in his whole post and base your response on that one line, while he actually explains why he made that statement. I personally agree with the OP, however I also do realise that you need to do what he doesn't like otherwise you get another digichilli or screamer ISP where the package is completely unusable as opposed to throttled/limited. Its a move in the right direction.

Thing is, people wanted affordable uncapped broadband, now they want more. Its the endless cycle of always wanting the next best thing. Its human nature.

How many of the capped account offerings out there are unshaped?
