Uncapped mobile data packages - Vodacom, MTN, and Rain respond

I would have thought my nearest cell tower would carry my connection over fibre, seeing as MTN and Vodacom have connected their towers to their vast fibre networks. Is spectrum really such an issue when they just need to wirelessly hoover up customers in the vicinity of their towers and then hand them over to a regular fibre network?
 
I'm happy with high capped like:
  • Vodaphone Italy 25GB for €15 ~R240
  • Vodaphone UK 100GB for £20 ~R380
  • T-mobile USA uncapped for $30 (throttled at 50GB) ~R430

Already indicated that data prices can only be cut in half. T'sek, not interested in your table scraps.

Rain spokesperson Khaya Dlanga said that completely uncapped Rain mobile data packages are not out of the question.

What I like to hear.
 
I'm just waiting for Jannie to show up and justify high prices because of spectrum limitations.

Just look at Vodacom fibre. 300gb fair use policy on a 10Mbps fibre line after than you get slowed to 2Mbps.

Guess we need some fibre spectrum too while we are at it.
 
Rain rocks... Wish they would do a reasonable stop gap between 6pm and 11pm, R50 a gig is way to high 20 gig for R100 would be great.
 
They don't want to cut data prices simply cause of VoIP.

If every-man used Whatsap, SIP calling and such they will lose the sweet sweet $$$ on all those call minutes they make.

Main reason people like Rain that have no voice is cheaper cause they don't care if you use it for VoIP.
