Uncapped Satellite

Anyone know who offers uncapped satellite either one or two way?

Wasn't there Siyanda or something a while ago, or a deal with DSTV?

I know SAIX sells SpaceStream or whatever but thats capped. IIRC the latency was crappy but you could get nice rates eg 100KBs

PS: Yup, this is not ADSL but, there is no forum for other broadband technologies (eg Satellite and PLC). No-one reads the Offtopic section.

Sentech has VSAT, but due to my disliking of them, I'd say your best bet is SpaceStream (I haven't heard it was capped though, maybe you're thinking in terms of speed and not an actual cap?)

Why go satellite?
Rather wait till Telkom offers a 768k connection with a 10GB cap in 2150 and punts it as the latest technology..

Hey there could be a gap here for cryogenic freezing - it seems that will be necessary then we can thaw out once Telkom offers decent products and prices.. oh wait.. what am I talking about this is Telkom.. sorry..

I hope you have a sense of humour.. those prices require one oh and min 24mo contract and the cheapest is 128/128 for 6 large a month.. they do have decent contentions tho and fixed IP.

Well not necessarily looking at satellite but what other package allows you to move vast amounts of international content for a fixed priced per month?

I'd suggest you look @ UUNET's uncapped ADSL offering. Also, DataPro.co.za has something called BusinessADSL uncapped as well, little under or over R2000 a month. The UUNET offer would be cheaper, plus no shaping of ports etc (well, thats still to be determined though)

Shop around, something without a wire isn't the best bet at the moment.
