Hi

I just received this from openweb:

***

Hey Friends

It is with great excitement that I announce the 512k Uncapped Express special for January 2008.

This account gives you either 512k Uncapped speeds or 1024k Uncapped speeds, with a 20GB threshold. After 20GB's, your speed is slowed down to between 128k and 256k speeds, until the end of the month.

Once slowed down, you can still do anything you like, including downloading via p2p and torrent sites after hours :)

Now for the amazing price!

512k Uncapped Express Special - R999
1024k Uncapped Express Special - R1499

These prices are truly unheard of!!

Some important information:

* Use your own router
* Vat inclusive
* No contracts. The account will last from 1 January to 30 January 2008
* The account is not renewable past January

To order, simply email [email protected] and we will forward you the necessary information.

NB!! We only have 12 accounts available! You have to act fast in order to get your hands on one!

Kind Regards
OpenWeb

Whats up with that? Is there a catch? Mrbeeppppppp........

I suppose the "catch" is that is after you reach your 20gig threshold your speed drops to 1/4th of the original speed, rather than half. Also, the 20gig threshold is lower than the normal package.

I'm an OpenWeb customer and I wonder why I didn't get this e-mail. I guess they are only offering it to selected customers.

What is it with ISP's and uncapped/threshold - they shouldn't advertise as uncapped if your limited after you reach your 'threshold'
