So while I was speaking to a Web Africa salesperson (very nice and smart guy btw) he told me he wouldn't recommend uncapped for MMO gaming, I told him my main concern is MMO gaming. So that's fine with me 25gb 1mb line is more than I would use a month anyways with uncapped.

But I forgot to ask why capped is better for MMO gaming.

Can you guys tell me? Why is 1mb capped better than 1mb uncapped?

If you do heavy downloading (which is often why people go for uncapped accounts) then you will land up being throttled and your mmo gaming will suffer, especially if you do any important events such as raiding where a disconnect or high ping is very detrimental.

uncapped accounts also tend to in general have slightly higher international pings than capped accounts (especially when throttled), but again this will only really be felt when doing time-critical things such as raiding where a second extra delay could cause a wipe of the whole party.

If you aren't planning on doing 80gb+ per month, uncapped should work fine for mmos.

If you doing hardcore mmo'ing, capped would be a better option.

Uncapped account are shaped in most cases which will influence your ping times when playing mmos. You don't want that, most of the times yo play in groups and you do not want to be called a noob over and over again due to high lag or disconnects.

Look for capped accounts that are not shaped. This means nothing is prioritised or throttled. That you do want. Also use battleping on your machine to establish the shortest route from your machine to the mmo server.
