My take:

First off I will concede I am not fully clued up on the video game franchise (I am more an Xbox man) so cannot comment if the film is respectful to the source material but this was an enjoyable action adventure. Not too dissimilar to National Treasure for a younger audience. Actions comes at a good pace & there are a fair amount of thrills. There was some scenes that appeared too comical, I felt the main villain was mediocre at best & lastly the film plays it fast & loose with some physics. Holland & Wahlberg have good chemistry.

There is substantial Hyundai (& Genesis) product placement.

Fun Fact: The film is the first feature production of Sony's PlayStation Productions.
