Please help! I am from the Eastern Cape and when my driver's licence expired in September last year I was told to apply for a temporary one as result of the backlog. They could not take my fingerprints as I am 69 years old - old problem. The temporary licence has expired now, and I was told that they did not apply for a card, I must re-apply for a temporary one again!!! That means another eye test, photo's etc. I said the fingerprints will not show, the clerk said it will not matter this time. I honestly do not believe him. Is it possible to get a proper card without the fingerprints? Or does any province have a modern machine?
