Yeah, you can do that. If the number is already redistributed to someone else, it will get trickier. You can then contact the new owner and plead with them to transfer it or offer them some cash to transfer it.

Not much you can do then sadly, I think legally it now belongs to them.

Vodacom gave me my number back. It was deleted 4 months ago and fortunately it was not recycled. The team was awesome, my issue was resolved in under 24 hours. They have a customer for life in me and my family....go VODACOM!!!
