Unidentified Network/No Internet Access Issue

So...

...someone, and it might have been me but I don't remember doing it, had the LAN cable from our main Asus router plugged in to a normal port on the Netgear router. I plugged it in to the WAN port, rebooted the router and so far so good
Wonder if it's a case of you have to use the WAN port if the Router is in AP mode only... cause usually it would need to be lan to lan between the routers. Wan to lan will work, but then usually you need to have DHCP on both routers, and double NAT will happen on the second one for clients.

I honestly don't know enough to comment, I had a bit of help setting it up but relied mostly on Google and YouTube.

This is a Windows 10 thing. Go to device manager on each laptop and uninstall the wireless network device. Reboot and it will re-install the drivers. Serarch for the network and login. It should work until next time then you do it all over again.

Thanks. I managed to get it to work but I have had this issue on other networks with my work laptop so will remember this for the future.
