Unifi U6+ terrible range?

Roof is made of Slate tiles. House was built in 1949 and the new roof was fitted in 1985. Before that it was shingles

When I start the Unifi app which uses a browser, after I log in with user name, password and email address, it requests an OTP which is sent to my email address. This can take from 10 to 15 mins to arrive

Is there a way to prevent this OTP story? Not too bad for me as I seldom have to change anything, but I fitted a U6+ at a friend's home and the delay was a nuisance

I'd like to use an iPad instead of a PC, but the program won't let me change. It asks for a login and password for the AP but the AP does not appear on the list of devices. I may be doing something wrong, but I cannot see it

Use the mobile app, much easier.

Does the MFA option mean an OTP is needed? Can it be disabled?

Yes just setup a TOTP then the code lives on your side or any variety of MFA they offer.

The roof question was for the OP.
