Ok which ISP is going to do this first:

Resell the MWEB, Vox and IS uncapped services(shaped and unshaped). Then have a discount line rental through them.

So in effect I have my line through them but at a discount and then I am able to move between networks without having to sign more and more paperwork.

This I believe would make 90% percent of us happy.

I would sign up in a heartbeat as I have a pet hatred for paperwork and I think we are probably going to have to move to new networks as existing ones get overloaded.

ISP's I know you are there! Who wants to offer this first and I will sign with you!

This is alsmost possible now. I also believe that Vox are using the IS network as well and just selling their product as MWeb prices... I am not 100% this is correct though.

We have signed up with MWeb and they will have the reseller/direct link partnership in place for June we are told. Therefore, it should be possible, within reason to move between Vodacom, IS and MWeb without the line hassle... assuming that they are the best Tier 1's at the time. Lots of people are looking in ot provisioning their own networks with redundancy and self-management.

Watch this space as I really don't think this is over yet.

The only issue with your telkom line that we've found... you can't move from one ISP to another (I understand that if your ISP sells all types then it's not necessary). However in the light that you do then you'll have to move back to Telkom, then to the new ISP as they will not transfer you from one to the other directly. This whole area is such a nightmare that I'm trying to get on top of at the minute.

Thanks Peter... My intention was to have the tier 2 ISP maintain the line and then select from different uncapped ISP's(shaped and unshaped). You can exclude VOX from that I guess as VOX has no data only package. But I have no doubt Telkom and the other remaining Tier 1's will have a product to resell soon.

Yeah - that's completely our thinking Shayd,

We are connecting with all the Teir 1's... through a direct database link, where possible.
That way we can chose the best products for our customers and migrate them as seemlessly as possible... thanks for clarifying this with me as well.
It really does build a great case for me to ensure we start selling the Telkom lines... no matter how much hassle they are!
