Uniforum... *sigh*... again

@orange, the coffee sucks, as you well know.

Anyway ... let me read through the PDF you linked, as soon as your link downloads that is (thanks for the link).

@Freshy : I am saying that throwing your toys out the cot and shouting to have the user interface replaced is not going to solve the complaints that we have with Uniforum SA.

We need to formulate a proper request and send that request to the correct person, without making ourselves look stupid.

Every year we complain about Uniforum SA and every year I learn a little bit more about the process.

I don't know enough about Uniform SA to even begin to petition for change, but I am prepared to learn, and to give it a shot.

But, what gets me the most is that everyone moans when things take a little longer than expected, but, the fact remains that any proposed change is going to have consequences, and I for one need to understand the consequences before pushing for that change.

I definitely do not want to be charged R2500 (or more) a year for a co.za domain.

Well you would forgive some of us for thinking you actually support the status quo.
WRT petitioning I would be on that list but let me just say (and Ive mentioned this on other Uniforum threads in the past) that some years ago now I phoned Uniforum to enquire why they had done away with the NO DELAY WORD function. In my discussion with someone fairly senior I was told that they were working on an API. What ever happened to that I have no clue. Possibly funds, possibly they couldnt reconcile the API idea and the 24hr compulsory wait idea.

If they could just bring back the no delay word function I would put up with everything else. What I do now is leave out the nameserver IPs so that if I need to move servers in a hurry I dont even have to do an update.

Funds? They have 421 898 domains * 50/year = 21.09 million a year.

COZA doesn't send out the IP glue anymore (well it seems when the nameservers are not in the .co.za namespace). So IP glue on domains registered using non co.za based nameservers becomes unused.
