Hey guys,

Yes...I know a lot of people told me so...but I just had to. I'm now trying to reinstall Windows XP Pro on my system and here is what I've done.

I partitioned my 300GB Drive into a 100GB and 200GB partition when I installed Windows Vista Home Premium. Now when I boot up from a Windows XP install disk it only picks up a 130GB partition. Vista is installed on the 100GB partition and I only want to format that partition because I have a lot of stuff on the other partition and really do not feel like transferring all of that to another PC.

How do I get the XP installer to pick up both partitions so I only need to format the one without losing my other valuable data?

Many thanks!

Use the Vista cd to delete the partition and then use the XP cd. Never done it before but think it will work

windows xp prior to the arrival of service pack2 could only see up to 136gb maximum.

so, you either need to slipstream service pack 2 into your xp cd, or borrow a cd that already has that slipstreamed in, or install from your copy, apply service pack 2 and then extend the partition with something like partitionmagic.

Thanks for the advice guys. Any idea how to slipstream it into the CD Renamed?
