Hi there I will be registering for the Bsc in Informatics course at Unisa this year and would like to know if there are any members who will be starting their first year in the same course in 2nd semester? I want to start a study group in the Joburg area.

Thanks

I will be registering for the Bsc in computing, some subjects will be shared I suspect.

Thanks for the response guys. Are you both in the Joburg area? Perhaps we can do some subjects together. Skandalis, hows the course so far?

Slow going at the moment. Only doing 2 subjects per semester to see how I can cope with work.

Intro to programming is very basic...

Applied for admission this morning - haven't heard squat so far.. :) Optimistic I know.

Saw this, not sure if it applies to us though? Anyone with more info?

I meant: Second semester applications opened today.

if you want to apply for a new degree / honours / change of qualification.

THIS APPLIES TO PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED STUDENTS ( I didn't know this and lost out on six months)

How did you apply? I got to the part where I had to specify my email address, and it wouldn't let me edit the field, and it wouldn't accept the myLife email address already in there.

What is it with people and study groups? It seems the first thing anyone wants to do is organise one.

Same problem here

I didn't have any problems this morning - although I did do it at 07:00 so maybe their systems isn't designed for the load?

Same reason Facebook is successful. People don't want to go through stuff alone -we're social beings after all.

What browser did you use? I'm busy installing Firefox to see if that maybe allows me to continue.

Now it seems that you can't register for anything. I guess they're fixing the issue. Or there's no choice but to make the long walk to Florida...

I used Chrome

I pre-emptively booked a day of leave for their stuff-ups.

Anyone managed to register successfully?

I'm a returning student
I got a message saying that my application has been submitted and will receive feedback in due course.
This was on the 8-04-2014

Up till now no response at all and registration closes tomorrow.

No one replies to emails and the phone lines are constantly engaged.

Should I be worried?

Little bit, because their systems were broken on the 7th 8th and ninth apparently, so even though you've applied, they have no record of you applying. I'd contact them ASAP.
