hey everyone... was wondering, is it possible to write UNISA exams all in one go at any point in time? Or do you have to go by their schedule and complete year 1 then 2 then 3 then 4?

Was considering doing year 1 and 2 in 1 year because I have the time available, but there would be no point if I can't write the exams.

You can't do more than 5 modules per semester.

You can take a maxime 5 semester modules a semester, 10 semester modules per year.

Also you need to take into consideration the prerequisites for 2nd year subjects. You'll need to pass subject x & y in the 1st year prerequisites before you get access to subject z in 2nd year for example.

Thanks. I was hoping I could do a "degree by examination". Some varsities overseas allows you to only pay for and write the exams. So if you're in a professional space where you already have intimate knowledge of the subject matter, and can pass those subjects with ease (because of your work experience), then you can write as many as you want. I've read of people finishing their BA within 1.5 years instead of the 4.

Thats interesting, however I doubt our tertiary institutions are on that sort of mind frame or have the necessary infrastructure to support individuals as yourself in that scenario, unless you a politician (of which you not telling us lol), you can try the honorary route lol :D

Just joking, however it wont hurt to give Unisa a call and see what kind of options are available for you.

Short answer - no. Most 2nd and 3rd year modules have pre-requisites.

Seems the mindset comment got lost on you.

If the OP completes the prerequisite exams in, lets say 2 months, why should it stop him from writing year 2 and 3 exams straight after?

Outside the box thinking isnt taught unfortunately.

Hope the OP finds a way

Because it doesn't work that way. You have a semester per module.

No. They schedule the exam times. The best you can do is before registering, check to see when the exams are for the modules you intend to take, and plan accordingly. You can't just rock up at a campus one day with a few pens and write what you want :P

As for the prerequisites modules, I once got around that by filling out a registration form the good 'ol fashion way, and faxing it through to them.

Thanks, maybe doesn't work that way in the conventional sense of varsity and so forth, was hoping someone would look past "UNISA" in their reply then and offer up alternatives. Seems there isn't a way.

Thanks all

No, you can't expect people to look past "UNISA" when you ask "is it possible to write UNISA exams all in one go"

In my line of work, it's important to know what alternatives to offer clients looking to implement something specific on-premise to give a good idea of what options they have available.

It's silly for me to assume that anyone on this forum can think past the question and offer the same insights I have to on a daily basis.

But thanks for your input. Hope your day is awesome

"Is it possible to write correspondence university course exams all in one go"

you're welcome :D

Thought it was required by law to do at least 2 years of your degree.

Edit : See they will allow 50% of modules to be credited.

Yep, I was looking into emigration laws for Australia (I'd like to go there or Canada, maybe NZ or Alaska, but preferably Canada), and without a degree it sucks a bit without securing a job first. So when I saw Aus allowing for an RPL, it made me wonder WTF it is/where I would get one. Found the link on Unisa.

A degree teaches fundamental concepts and principles, it isn't about just writing exams.

I agree. And by writing the exams you get the degree. So even though it teaches you those fundamental concepts and principles, you can learn those fundamental concepts and principles on the job as well. Leaving only silly exams to get by to get your piece of paper saying you know stuffs.

I'm surprised at the archaic rhetoric here. Would have thought embracing quicker learning/faster degrees incurring less debt using technology available to us today would be the mentality of forum goers here
