I do not know of any hosts that "block" international access to it. Would be the best idea ever, as it would cut costs by more than 50% imo.

cos bandwidth in South Africa is so expensive that it is not viable to offer any "unlimited" solutions.

Wait until the end of 2009, then you will see some better options.

How much is unlimited, no web host will even have a price for "unlimited".

The most I have heard of is 2Gb shared hosting, and then there is dedicated hosting which is very expensive, and if you cannot justify your site by making +/- R5 000-00 from it a month, then I seriously would reconsider your hosting options.

There are some hosts that offer "unlimited" storage / bandwidth, however that's basic marketing only to entice the uneducated crowd to make purchase.

When you can show me a hard drive that can defy the laws of physics and enable offerings such as that, let me know!

But by unlimited don they mean that once your used up all the HDD space they will add another one to keep you going.

Where would the capital needed for the extra hard drive come from? What these hosts usually do is after you use x gigabytes of disk space, they will suspend you for using too much CPU, etc etc.

I think what was meant is that to achieve closer to unlimited would be a dedicated server.

They do not have enough diskspace even for the 320 Gb option ? Maybe they monitor the disk usage and upgrade the disk if it gets too capacity, but I doubt it being pro-active as I have had many support calls with no disk space left.
