We advertise unlimited databases so users do not have to worry about paying extra if they need more than 1 database, or paying per MB etc. That is the problem with some local hosting companies at the moment - every little add-on is charged and this makes it difficult for the client, since they think they are getting web hosting for RXX/month but then in order to add more than 1 email account or database they have to pay extra.
You said "Host Gator, Host Gator, Host Gator need I say more, no one can touch them locally " in another post and our packages are very similar to theirs (unlimited email, databases etc) with the same resource policy. If a site is suited for shared hosting then it will be fine, but as soon as the processing power and memory exceed what shared hosting can offer then we do give the clients an option to upgrade.
We are using cPanel/WHM with CloudLinux, this means that a website can use their allocated resources and view this usage in cPanel. Real time stats regarding cpu time, memory usage and processes open are available for clients to view. This technology allows us to isolate each customer into its own “virtual segment”, a website will not be disabled if resource usage is too high, the website will simply run slower as their allocated processing time and memory has been used up. The idea here is to maintain an environment that will allow clients to have bursts in traffic without affecting everyone else. That’s our goal.
We're trying to get South Africa's hosting offerings and service levels on par with international levels and I think we're doing a pretty good job so far
