Unlocked 5G SIM cards

Is it possible to get SIM cards from either Vodacom or MTN that are not locked to their routers? How do I go about getting such cards, been trying 3 weeks with Vodacom Business, their consultants could not help me.

Have you tried prepaid sim?

Dont think they sell the Sims separately because people might have crappy 5G routers and then they complain to VC and social media saying they locked in a contract and the service is crap.

Depends on the type of account you have

prepaid or normal CAPPED account its just a api change to "internet"

But what ISP have been doing more so MTN is they white list IMEI Devices aproved by them sold by them for you to use so they will say

Hey yes use these routers for this uncapped plan such as the Cudy LT700 right but they dont state anything clear about (Only if you buy these from us) and boom you stuck using their routers with their firmware.

is it legal persoanlly its grey with Icasa since no device is alowed to be network locked but they doing the oppiste their sim is restricted to authorised devices ONLY hence the IMEI must be whitelisted by them.

has nothing to do with the device itself sadly. I cant say im aware of vodacom doing this but more so MTN from what i gathered with my clients that bought the LT700 i am assuming it was cheaper to go our route than MTN.
