Unlocking Motorola Sidekick Slide

Hi There,

Can someone please let me know where or how i can network unlock my sidekick slide. I bought it in the states, but now it doesnt work on our local networks yet.

What you say implies that it accepts a local SIM card but can't find a network. The Sidekick is quad band 850, 900, 1800 & 1900MHz. You are only interested in the 900/1800MHz selection. Look through the settings menu for Network options as it may be set to scan just 1900MHz for the USA. Look for an option for 900MHz or 900/1800MHz.

If you however have a SIM rejected or SIM not accepted message, then the handset is network locked. Let me know on this as I know a reputable site that will provide you the unlock code for a reasonable fee.

My hanset is network locked. It doesnt accept my MTN sim. Please let me know where or how i can have it unlocked please!!!!!! And how soon can i have it done?

But in the meantime i will try and change network settings. Doubt it will work though.

I assume it was locked to T-Mobile USA in which case have a look here: http://www.unlockbycode.net/

They also supply codes for Cingular and AT&T.

Usually you get an error message if the phone is SIM locked. It can vary make to make from "Wrong SIM" to enter NCK or enter subsidy code. Just try a new MTN or Vodacom SIM before you pay for the unlock code!
