Unlocking Nashua Modem

Hi Guys,

I had a 12 month R139 Nashua contract which is now over. The modem is locked to Nashua.
I took it to them to unlock it but was told that they cannot and i must maybe try Telkom.

Have any of you have experience taking a modem to Telkom to be unlocked ? Do you know if they will
actually do it ?

In order to unlock the router, you have to change the firmware. If you can install the original Billion firmware, then your problem should be solved

Why would Nashua supply MWeb-branded routers?

The Nashua router if it's locked you must contact Nashua and ask them to unlock it for you!!!If they can locked it,they can unlock it as well so you dont have to take your router else where!

It's a schlep to take things in. This whole situation is unacceptable. You should be able to this from the comfort of your home.

Contacted mweb today and the used to have the firmware on an FTP site but no longer do...so was asked to bring router to them and they will unlock it.

Why don't you download and install the firmware yourself? Companies like M-Web and Nashua uses custom firmware but if you download the original firmware you can save yourself the effort of taking it in so someone else can install the firmware.

Just some feedback to you guys . I complained on HelloPeter.

Nashua called me within 2 hours and apologised to the store attitude. They said they can pick up the modem from me which will take about a week to sort out or i can just come in to their offices in midrand and will take 5min to unlock. So gonna go for that option.
