Do these trap all lanes?

There's a few going from Midrand (New Road) to Northriding (Malibongwe) on the slow lane side ... And I'm sure I've seen it flash for a car in the 3rd lane

Also wondering about other cars in the frame?

I also have no idea how it works.
Can it even catch speedsters in the fast lane?
There's bound to be an obstruction by another car in the other 3 lanes.

The ones with the piezo strips on the road ought to be able to trap across all lanes because only the car speeding over the strips gets nabbed. I suppose it is still possible for there to be another car in the way whatever camera is used when it is on the side of the road.

What do you reckon the penalties are for accidentally knocking one of these over / out of alignment? I've seen a few when cycling with no hint of a pad-varkie looking after it...

You'll be charged with vandalism. Those camera's aren't cheap.

hook up a device on your bike to spray cooking oil on it , it should still work but the lens on the camera wont be able to focus on the license plate.

I'll try get a picture if they're trapping tonight - but it's a small white box on a tripod behind a sign or obstacle

I got three fines last month from these cameras. All the pictures were from different lanes on the highway although the picture of me in the fast lane also has other vehicles in the picture. Not too sure how legal that is

If it really is unmanned and I happened to cycle past... well it would be very stupid of them to just leave it unmanned
