howsit guys

ok so now basically the uno is leaking water from a metal pipe which the radiator pipe is connected to

WTH is that pipes name and do i have to replace the pipe or the whole module as its connected to the engine ?

i first thought it was the manifold from a quick look but thats still in good condition. I have to fill the baby up with 2L water every time and standing in traffic is driving me crazy , tomorrow i have an off day and it will get replaced but i need the name.

i have the haynes manual but they dont show its name anywhere:confused:

below is a link to a pic from google that i uploaded which shows the pipe (this is not my engine , mine is clean!!!):

any help will be appreciated thanks

Fiat : Fix it again tomorrow:D

Hmmm ... looks like that pipe is fixed/pressed into the water pump.
In that case you'll probably need to replace the water pump (which comes with the pipe attached).
You can probably forget about repairing the pipe as it's most likely corrosion that has eaten the pipe away inside so it'll be too thin to weld up.

Ive owned an Uno Tubo and from personal experience go the agents and get a new pipe. I has a stainless steel pipe made up for mine due to high boost levels (1.4 bar)

cool , do you know how much a water pump goes for ? i cant afford to spend another grand this month on it.

srsly its been 1 grand per month for 3 months now:mad:

also does it have to bolted on or does it get welded onto the block of the engine ? sorry noob question

How hot does that pipe get?
You could try and braze it, but it might be impossable to do while it is on the motor.
You could also try and get some rubber hose, the same size as your radiator hose, and try and force it over the metal pipe. Then seal it with hose claps either side of the leak.
It should hold untill you have money to get it repaired properly.

cash is slightly a problem but not the end of the world. the pipe does get fairly hot but when i fill the car with water/coolant the runs cool (between 60-85 degrees) depending on traffic.

i can replace the part but i have limited time to do so and would rather get a new part other than patching it up temp.

i understand its a 2nd hand car thats 10 years old and the engine is in good shape otherwise, the first owner never replaced this part by the looks of the service history

big SIGH

checked the pipe out properly now and the pipe still looks brand new on the pumps side but on the curve its got such a tiny little hole about half the size of a budgie seed. i might just do the pipe extention or weld it

how do these holes appear ? i hardly use water , rather coolant

I wont recommend welding it. Those pipes don't last long when you weld it. They a a bit soft.
See if Midas sells water pumps. They should work fine. AFAIK only the agents sell the pipe.

yeah i managed to get a new pipe , next morning i quickly fitted it and it was all good.

next thing ill have to look for is a manifold , maybe in 2 or 3 years time lol.

You will also pay and arm and a leg for a manifold.
Rather get a branch made up. Will give you slightly more power and will be way cheaper.

I also forgot to mention. Check this website:
