Hi All,

I have been using Unotelly and Netflix for several months at home, and suddenly it has stopped working. If I go through the troubleshooting steps it looks like the Unotelly DNS is not being used despite it being the only DNS server set.

I have gone through the troubleshooting with a Unotelly support tech in detail and he has also given up. To put everyone in the picture:

- I have a problem on my MacBook pro and two Apple TV devices (so not device specific)
- The problem persists even at work on a completely different ADSL line (so not connection specific)

My home connection is wi-fi from a farm to town, and then ADSL. At work (in town) its ADSL and probably a different ISP (although not certain since I am not sure what ADSL ISP my farm wi-fi provider uses).

The problem certainly seems ISP/proxy related given all devices have stopped working at the same time. Given the two connections both fail I even had the thought it may be country-wide but the lack of noise on any forums about this rules that out.

Can anyone shed any light or help?

Thanks
Cheers

Richard

I know this might sound stupid but first check that your Unotelly account is active or paid up. Remembering also that unotelly will suspend your account if you attempt to connect from two different IPs.

Next I would remove the DNS settings on your router and rather enter it on an individual machine making sure of course it relates to the connection you are using to connect to the Internet LAN/Wifi.

Your farm connection is interesting, so are you sure there are no other DNS settings "upstream" that may be affecting the connection especially things like VPNs?

Unotelly not working, again!

Checked Unotelly was active. I have an IT background so pretty much checked all the obvious stuff. I'm getting rusty though since I left the IT game a few years ago so thought someone here would have betted insight.

I also think its an upstream setting but my ISP (wi-fi provider) denies this. I trust the guy but I still think its something he is doing without realising the impact. Sure looks like a transparent proxy in the way (that's the symptoms anyway).

I've had nothing but problems with uno, a few weeks ago I switched to JustUnblock.com which has been alot more stable for me, especially with netflix and Al Jazeera Sport, when I did have problems with my PS3 I just contacted support and they gave me special access.
